With a loft space and barn to renovate it offers great winter/ski accommodation with the potential to further develop and is only 15 minutes drive from the La Roche chairlift that links to high altitude La Plagne, as well as the lovely villages of Montchavin and Montalbert.
The valley town of Aime is only 5 minutes drive away whilst the resort town of Bourg St Maurice is just 15 minutes along the valley road. In winter a direct EUROSTAR service runs to both these towns. From the house, which at 850m altitude is higher than many Austrian ski villages, it is less than 15 minutes to the 6-man La Roche chairlift at 1600m that whisks you up above Aime La Plagne. From here all of high altitude La Plagne can be accessed. Alternatively it is only a short drive to the lovely villages of Montalbert and Montchavin, both of which offer access to La Plagne and have a lovely village “vibe”. Just above Montchavin the Vanoise Express cable car takes you over to Les Arcs. Together La Plagne and Les Arcs form PARADISKI, one of the world’s great ski areas with some 425km of piste. The skiing on offer is truly tremendous with something for everybody. There are cruising blue and red runs, bumpy blacks, easily accessible off piste and challenging “steep and deep” off the back of the Bellecote Glacier at 3000metres. Boarders have not been forgotten with a choice of terrain parks. Favourite runs include through the trees to Montalbert and Montchavin and cruising over the “sunny side” towards Champagny. With Les Arcs further increasing the choice of skiing and other resorts such as La Rosiere, Sainte Foy, Val d’Isère, Tignes and the 3 Valleys all less than an hour by car there is an unbelievable amount of skiing on offer. A GREAT FAMILY SKI BASE FOR LESS THAN THE PRICE OF AN APARTMENT IN RESORT. ONLY 15 MINUTES TO LA PLAGNE SKI LIFT.
The current accommodation is on three levels as the current owners have developed what used to be the cave/cellar. On entering the house there is a large kitchen, nicely updated with Ikea units and wood effect flooring, leading through to a cosy dining room and a nicely tiled bathroom with bath, overhead shower and WC. Wooden stairs lead downstairs from the kitchen to the lower level where there is a separate WC, bathroom with bath, overhead shower and washbasin and through to a lovely room which is currently used as a lounge but could just as easily be a bedroom with its own private facilities.. Upstairs from the kitchen there are 3 bedrooms, 2 of which are doubles with built in wardrobe space and balconies offering views over to the other side of the valley. The loft space is ripe for development but it is the WOODEN BARN that offers the greatest potential to be turned into a small chalet or work/office space. Outside space includes a terrace along the front of the house a garden and there is space for parking several cars.Macot La Plagne is a thriving village at the foot of the road to La Plagne, with several British families having already settled in the village, which offers a well-regarded local school, a local shop, a boulangerie, a couple of bars and a pizza restaurant—and ,of course, easy access to some fantastic skiing.

La Plagne is one of France’s largest and most popular ski resorts. It is also extremely popular with British skiers and boarders who make up around 35% of the visitors to this great resort. With some 225 km. of piste, continual upgrading of the lift facilities and slopes for all standards of skier there is something for everybody. If this is not enough for you the amazing Vanoise Express double decker gondola link to Les Arcs opens up another 200km. of slopes. The joint La Plagne, Les Arcs, PARADISKI ski domain is one of the world’s truly great fully linked ski areas. La Plagne is not just one resort but a collection of ski villages, 6 at high altitude and 4 further down the mountain, each with their own shops, restaurants, bars and ski schools. At high altitude the 6 villages are; Aime La Plagne (2100m),Belle Plagne(2050m),Plagne Villages/Soleil(2050m),Plagne Bellecote(1930m),Plagne Centre(1970m) and Plagne 1800(1800m). Of these the pitched roof chalet style of Belle Plagne, Plagne Villages/Soleil and Plagne 1800 are the most attractive to British eyes. However the other three are not without their fans and offer ski in ski out convenience and some great value accommodation. The original la Plagne, Plagne Centre, is undergoing a considerable facelift and next year work begins on the indoor shopping and restaurant areas. Lower down the mountain there are more traditional villages. Les Coches at 1450 m has been purpose built in a pleasing chalet style and recent lift improvements have transformed access to the higher slopes. Champagny en Vanoise (1250m) and, in particular, Montchavin(1250m) and Montalbert(1350m) have retained their rustic farming charm and have a strong following amongst British clients. Between them the villages of La Plagne offer something for everyone. There are wide, cruising blue slopes for the less confident or those “hot chocolate” skiers amongst you with tough blacks and a wealth of off piste for the stronger /more adventurous skier. Boarders have not been forgotten with a variety of Terrain parks on offer. Accommodation varies from simple, great value, ski in ski out studios and apartments to luxury new build apartments and chalets.
