Property Description

Located at the entrance to Les Arcs 1600, this 19m2 studio is a great buy for an investor, couple or seasonaire.  At the moment to studio is equipped for 4 people, the kitchen area has 2 electric hobs built in to the sink unit with cupboard space and refrigerator and a microwave and mini-oven above.  There is a kitchen storage unit which doubles as a breakfast bar area.  The living area has a fold out double sofa-bed nestled underneath an elevated double bed, there is also a fold-down table, attached to the wall in the living area.  From the sitting area you look west through the balcony door across the tree-tops and towards the mountains of the Vanoise National Park.  The balcony itself increases the living space, giving you room for a small table and chair set.  The bathroom is situated just off the entrance hall, there is a full size bath with over head shower attachment, washbasin and WC.  Along the hall-way there are some useful floor to ceiling height cupboards and wardrobes.

The studio is on the 4th floor of this 10 storey building which has two lifts.  You are only 5 minutes walk to the resort centre, by 3 separate sets of stairs.  Just a minutes walk through the parking and you are ready to ski-out and ski back to the studio on the Violettes piste.  The free resort navette also stops right outside the door so you can hop on to the ski-bus to make life even easier!

Les Arcs 1600 is the original resort of all the Les Arcs villages.  With access from nearby town of Bourg St Maurice in 7 minutes on the funicular, you can leave your car in the valley floor and get around the villages by the efficient free shuttle buses.  Standing at the studio and from Les Arcs 1600 you get a superb panoramic view across the valley towards Mont Blanc, the Pierra Menta and Le Rognais.  The resort centre is a friendly uncrowded place having a real village feel about it with a good choice of reasonably priced bars, restaurants and shops with the arcade of shops being all located together.  Les Arcs makes up part of the diverse Paridiski ski area where you have 425km of pisted skiing not to mention the unlimited off piste opportunities.  There are some pretty tree lined runs down to the villages below Les Arcs or you can head up to high altitude glacial skiing.  It is such a huge area, recently opened up by the Vanoise Express which links Les Arcs to the La Plagne area that beginners, intermediates, expert skiers or snowboarders will all be kept busy enough whilst freestylers can play in the parks and on the boarder-cross circuit while cross-country skiers will be delighted with over 150kms of the tree-lined runs.

There are four major gateways to Les Arcs – Geneva, Lyon, Grenoble & Chambery airports between 1h15 and 2h15 drive.  Bourg St Maurice train station is only 15 minutes by taxi to Les Arcs 1600 and has a weekly Eurostar service and regular TGV trains.

Les Arcs

Resort Description

Les Arcs has always been popular with the French and increasingly British clients are enjoying its wide variety of pistes (some 200km.), easily accessed off-piste, mainly traffic free villages and, of course, the amazing Vanoise express cable car link to La Plagne; together the two resorts are known as PARADISKI and offer some 425km. of piste. Les Arcs is made up of four modern resort villages at high altitude with more traditional villages lower down Arc 1600 was the original Arc and is linked to the valley town of Bourg St. Maurice by funicular railway. It is a small-scale village with a friendly, very French, atmosphere. The largest and liveliest village is Arc 1800 itself now subdivided into three sections, Charvet, Villards and Charmettoger. Arc 1800 offers fast access to the high altitude slopes including the Transarc gondola up to the Col du Chal from where you can ski down to Arc2000 and Arc 1950. Arc 2000 is a modern development that ,as the name suggests, is ideally located for some of Les Arcs’ highest and toughest skiing . Arc 1950 is the latest village to be developed. Canadian developers Intrawest have built this in a traditional style offering accommodation standards that are much higher than is usual in French resorts. It has proved a popular development and offers a good choice of accommodation, restaurants and bars and easy access to the slopes. Lower down the mountain there are more traditional villages, which provide a good base for mixed ability groups and families. Plan Peisey and Vallandry are right next-door to each other at an altitude of 1600m. They now find themselves at the heart of Paradiski as the Vanoise Express link to La Plagne operates out of Plan-Peisey. Upgrades to the lifts and installation of several new chairlifts have improved access to the higher altitude slopes. Villaroger (1200m) on the other side of the mountain is a quiet, rustic village with chairlift links up to Arc 2000.
