Property Description

What an opportunity to purchase a genuine ski chalet at a great price!  Set on a large terrain in the quiet woody reserve of Le Gollet in La Rosiere ski resort, with a stream running through the garden, private parking, large wide terrace and just a few minutes from the piste.

The chalet is a rare find as properties in this part of La Rosiere seldom come on to the market.  Built in the mid 70s the chalet is of traditional construction made with stone and wood.  Set amongst the pine trees, it really is a picture postcard of a true Alpine Dream!

The vendor has added an extension to the chalet making the most of the terrain that was available to use for building, as there is a restriction on what you can do in this exclusive area.  You enter the chalet in to a hallway which leads to a large double bedroom with a roomy private bathroom with large corner spa bath, WC, and handbasin.

Go upstairs the first living room which is in the eaves of the extension so there are some nice character beams exposed.  This is used as a music room at present and there is also another WC, handbasin and shower room at the rear of this room.

Go through to the main living and dining room.  With a cosy log fire and access on to the wide terrace this living room will be a great place to entertain or relax on cold snowy days around the fire or long, warm sunny summer days on the balcony.  The view from the balcony is quite beautiful across the treetops and down the valley.

The equipped corner kitchen is separated from the living area by a bar which is useful for breakfast or aperitifs!  There is a WC off the living area.

Up a set of stairs and you will find two large double bedrooms in the eaves of the original part of the chalet.  The space on the staircase has been wisely used and shelving put in so is home to the owner’s collection of books and games!

From the rear of the living room there is a staircase down to two double bedrooms.  There is a shared bathroom with bath, handbasin and WC.  A useful separate entrance to the chalet is on this floor and there is a storage room for skis, ski boots and snowboards.  A second store room houses the hot water cylinders.

The garden area is nice and large and slopes up the mountain and remains peaceful and private set in amongst the well established mountain pine trees.  The sound of the stream is very calming and runs through a large wooden trough at the end of the garden, collecting water for your garden, plants, tubs and window boxes.  There is also a garden shed which is good space for bbq, bicycles or gardening tools.

I think this chalet is a real gem with good family accommodation, lovely outside terraces and garden; and being nestled in the trees of the rather exclusive Le Gollet makes it a super private chalet that could be used year round, as a second ski home or a summer retreat away from it all.  The chalet is offered at a great price and it should not be missed!

La Rosiere is perfectly located for summer and winter holidays.  Being only 25 minutes drive from Bourg Saint Maurice train station or 2 hours from the international airports of Lyon and Geneva.  The resort itself is linked to La Thuile in Italy during the winter giving extensive, international skiing!  The Col du Petit St Bernard is open during the summer months and makes a stunning drive in to the mountains of Italy.

The shops, restaurants, bars and facilities of La Rosiere are second to none.  Fantastic services for children and families, the resort has become really popular with English, Dutch and French clients.  There are all sorts of fun activities to entertain from snow shoeing, husky drawn sleds, ice skating and speed kite riding during the winter; to horse riding, mountain or road cycling and a white water course in nearby Bourg Saint Maurice during the summer months.
