    • Property Description

The property is divided in to 14 apartments and the communal areas are well maintained and are bright and airy.  The building is a traditional style village house rather than an apartment block so is attractive from the outside.

On the first floor of the building, as you enter the hallway the apartment opens out into the kitchen and dining area.  There is storage cupboard and a nice sized bathroom off the right hand side of the hallway.  The bathroom is complete with a bath, overhead shower, washbasin and WC.  All of the suite is new, fresh, clean and modern.  Continue through to the corner kitchen which is fully equipped and, again, is all new.  The dining and living area open out on to the large, sunny balcony.  Just around a half wall is the bedroom which has good space for a double bed, a desk and furniture.

The whole apartment has been fully refurbished and is modern, contemporary and very clean.  All the floors are laid to parquet wooden flooring and the walls are freshly painted.  The electricity and hot water cylinder have all been replaced, making this a great apartment to occupy straight away.  The apartment is sold with a private storage cave, a communal bicycle storage room and 1 parking place in a private park.  I think this apartment would make a great first time buy for a young couple or a top year round holiday pad.  I also think it could be a fantastic investment because due to its location, style and dependancies it would rent really well.

This apartment is located in the charming year round village of Aime.  The village has all the shops and commerce such as supermarkets, pharmacy, banks, post office, butchers, bakers and much more; mainly situated on the pretty pedestrianised main high street.  There are some top restaurants in the village too, that people will travel a long way to dine at.  There are a couple of bars and cafes for a quick coffee or aperitif.  But of course the real benefit of this apartment is its location at the foot of the Paradiski.  Around a 10 minutes drive and you will be in Montchavin and accessing the enormous ski domain of the Paradiski which offers over 400kms of pisted runs!  With so many activities on offer during the winter season, for children adults, for skiers or non skiers, for good days and for heavy snow and low visibility days, this domain has it all.  You could ski during the morning and dine on the mountain for lunch then ski back down to take part in some husky sled rides in the afternoon?!  Or you will find shops and boutiques selling ski equipment, local produce for souvenirs and supermarkets to stock up your apartment cupboards!  The choices of entertainment are wide and varied with events planned throughout the season, such as fireworks displays, vin chaud evenings, torch lit descents and live music to dance to on the snow front - each holiday will hold something new for you!

Being less than 2 hours transfer from the international airports of Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble, Aime makes a great getaway for anytime of the year and is really easy to access!  There is also a train station in the village which links to Chambery and Lyon from where you can get almost anywhere.  During the winter season the Eurostar and TGV stops off at the village meaning you can leave London on Friday evening, drop off your cases and be skiing on Saturday morning without any stresses at all.

LA PLAGNE

Resort Description

La Plagne is one of France’s largest and most popular ski resorts. It is also extremely popular with British skiers and boarders who make up around 35% of the visitors to this great resort. With some 225 km. of piste, continual upgrading of the lift facilities and slopes for all standards of skier there is something for everybody. If this is not enough for you the amazing Vanoise Express double decker gondola link to Les Arcs opens up another 200km. of slopes. The joint La Plagne, Les Arcs, PARADISKI ski domain is one of the world’s truly great fully linked ski areas.

La Plagne is not just one resort but a collection of ski villages, 6 at high altitude and 4 further down the mountain, each with their own shops, restaurants, bars and ski schools.
At high altitude the 6 villages are; Aime La Plagne (2100m),Belle Plagne(2050m),Plagne Villages/Soleil(2050m),Plagne Bellecote(1930m),Plagne Centre(1970m) and Plagne 1800(1800m).
Of these the pitched roof chalet style of Belle Plagne, Plagne Villages/Soleil and Plagne 1800 are the most attractive to British eyes. However the other three are not without their fans and offer ski in ski out convenience and some great value accommodation. The original la Plagne, Plagne Centre, is undergoing a considerable facelift and next year work begins on the indoor shopping and restaurant areas.

Lower down the mountain there are more traditional villages. Les Coches at 1450 m has been purpose built in a pleasing chalet style and recent lift improvements have transformed access to the higher slopes. Champagny en Vanoise (1250m) and, in particular, Montchavin(1250m) and Montalbert(1350m) have retained their rustic farming charm and have a strong following amongst British clients.

Between them the villages of La Plagne offer something for everyone. There are wide, cruising blue slopes for the less confident or those “hot chocolate” skiers amongst you with tough blacks and a wealth of off piste for the stronger /more adventurous skier. Boarders have not been forgotten with a variety of Terrain parks on offer.

Accommodation varies from simple, great value, ski in ski out studios and apartments to luxury new build apartments and chalets.
