Although compact, this studio is ready to occupy and for use straight away. There is a small equipped kitchen and dining area that flows into the living / sleeping area. Beyond that is a sweet little balcony which gives you quite stunning views across the mountains and down towards the lac du Chevril. The bathroom has a WC, handbasin and shower and finally the studio is sold with a ski locker and storage cave. The apartment building which houses the studio is really well maintained. The guardian lives in so the communal areas are particularly clean and well cared for.
Situated in a quiet area of Tignes Lavachet, you are only a couple of minutes walk to the fun and popular bars, nice restaurants and selection of shops. The chairlifts of Paquis and Chaudanne are just a five minutes walk away, which go in opposite directions of the mountain so you can start your skiing in a different area each day! Due to the situation of this apartment building, overlooking the valley and lake in one way and the resort in the other, makes it a really quiet spot. You will not get any noise disturbance here but are just a heartbeat away from the facilities.
Frequent shuttle buses go between the other areas of Tignes from Val Claret, Les Boisses, Brevieres and Le Lac so you can regularly experience the different atmospheres of each resort. Val Claret has a massive selection of shops, restaurants, bars and is a real hive of people and activity. Les Brevieres, down at the bottom is a pretty, older and more traditional French resort – very different to the modern, purpose built higher resorts. Tignes has become one of the leading, year round, activity resorts in France. During the winter season Tignes offers it all with immense skiing or boarding available for any level or ability. It is also a regular resort chosen to host major freestyle skiing such as the European X-Games so its reputation is confirmed.
Accessed within a 40 minutes drive from Bourg Saint Maurice where the train station has a regular timetable of national services and the international Eurostar during the winter months. Grenoble, Lyon and Geneva airports are just over a 2 hour transfer. This studio would make a great first time buy in an outstanding ski resort. Tignes and Val d’Isere , combined, make up the world renowned ski area of Espace Killy. Tignes itself offers all year round skiing with the Grande Motte glacier, altitude of 3030 metres, being served by a modern funicular. Val d’Isere offers expert off piste skiing on the beautiful Col d’Iseran. The other 2 sectors of the linked area have more gentle runs, perfect for beginners. Tignes is a purpose built resort. The centre is Le Lac, which was the original village. Recent remodeling work has improved its appearance dramatically. Val Claret is situated 2kms higher and is where you will find the Grande Motte funicular. A lesser known part of Tignes is Le Breviere, which lies at 1550 metres. Situated next to a picturesque lake it has maintained its small alpine village atmosphere. As well as skiing and snowboarding, Tignes offers numerous other activities, including ice skating, snow shoeing, ice climbing and quad biking. Sports shops, supermarkets and bakers are spread throughout the resort. And there are no shortage of bars and restaurants. Le Lac is the heart of Après Ski drinks whilst the most atmospheric places to eat can be found in Val Claret. The Eurostar offers a regular service to Bourg Saint Maurice which is at the foot of Tignes, from here a taxi transfer can be arranged. Local Airports include Lyon (approx 140km), Geneva (130km), Chambery (80km) and Grenoble (120km).
