This property is in a top spot of Tignes Lavachet. Right in the heart of the resort next to the shops, restaurants and only a 5 minute walk to the chair lift. The apartment is a very large space and I consider this to be a good price for the accommodation. Very easily rented out over the years the apartment would benefit from modernisation and some refurb which would undoubtedly improve its rental appeal. Currently with 4 bedrooms two of which are en-suite, large living and dining area with a mezzanine area, sold with a storage locker and the most wonderful sunny terrace!
I certainly would also consider this to make an excellent catered chalet apartment for any tour operator or individual looking to make an investment. Due to its size, layout, location and potential I am sure it would prove popular with paying guests.
Tignes is a serious contender for the best year round activity resort in France! The skiing in the winter is immense, with the link to Val d’Isere, the Espace Killy offers over 300kms of marked pistes, but makes no mention of the colossal off-piste available. There are areas, pistes and parks to suit all levels of skier or snow boarder. There are a huge selection of ski schools, ski guides and private instructors to help improve your technique or take you out on a days off piste excursion.
Other activities include snow shoe walks, snow mobile rides, ice diving or mountain biking down the piste! But equally, for those less inclined to hit the slopes, there is a great leisure centre with swimming pool, lots of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. Pedestrians can also make the most of the marked walks around the various villages of Tignes.
Now the accommodation. In an excellent location situated opposite the ski bus stop and right in the resort centre of Tignes Lavachet. It is a matter of seconds to the nearest supermarket, restaurant and ski shops and there is a really popular well known bar at the front of the property building.
Entrance on the ground floor where there is a useful store cupboard, but might be better suited as ski boot room? Go upstairs to the first floor where the accommodation is laid out on this one floor. From the hallway, you can enter the large living, dining and kitchen area. The equipped kitchen is in one corner and opens out on to the dining area. The living corner opens out on to a huge sunny terrace that has beautiful views of the Tovets mountain and a great panorama. Full height ceilings throughout this living area makes it really bright and airy and there is a open fireplace to add to the ambiance. There is a small mezzanine above the lounge and it could be used as a children’s play area or TV spot?
At the rear of the dining is an ensuite double bedroom, the bathroom has built in cupboards, a bath, over head shower, loo and handbasin. The bedroom also has built in wardrobes.
Return to the hallway and here are three further double or twin bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms share a shower room and WC whilst the larger double has an ensuite bathroom with bath, handbasin and loo.
The apartment has been used as accommodation for staff so consequently the two bedrooms have a handbasin installed. The apartment also requires either complete refurbishment and decoration to turn it round into a stunning chalet apartment. Alternatively you could do the work over several years and use it immediately as accommodation for seasonal staff.
At an altitude of 2100 metres, Tignes is a fair way up the mountain! But this explains its long snow sure winter seasons – ideal for making the most of the skiing or boarding for serious enthusiasts. It is around 40 minutes transfer from the TGV and Eurostar train station in Bourg St Maurice and well over 2 hours from Geneva, Grenoble and Lyon airports.

Tignes and Val d’Isere , combined, make up the world renowned ski area of Espace Killy. Tignes itself offers all year round skiing with the Grande Motte glacier, altitude of 3030 metres, being served by a modern funicular. Val d’Isere offers expert off piste skiing on the beautiful Col d’Iseran. The other 2 sectors of the linked area have more gentle runs, perfect for beginners. Tignes is a purpose built resort. The centre is Le Lac, which was the original village. Recent remodeling work has improved its appearance dramatically. Val Claret is situated 2kms higher and is where you will find the Grande Motte funicular. A lesser known part of Tignes is Le Breviere, which lies at 1550 metres. Situated next to a picturesque lake it has maintained its small alpine village atmosphere. As well as skiing and snowboarding, Tignes offers numerous other activities, including ice skating, snow shoeing, ice climbing and quad biking. Sports shops, supermarkets and bakers are spread throughout the resort. And there are no shortage of bars and restaurants. Le Lac is the heart of Après Ski drinks whilst the most atmospheric places to eat can be found in Val Claret. The Eurostar offers a regular service to Bourg Saint Maurice which is at the foot of Tignes, from here a taxi transfer can be arranged. Local Airports include Lyon (approx 140km), Geneva (130km), Chambery (80km) and Grenoble (120km).
