The chalet has two private parking spaces, one at the bottom of the steps that lead to Plagne 1800 village and the other in the village’s underground car park. The chalet is located just above Plagne 1800, which is the most authentic of La Plagne’s high altitude villages; it is a 5-minute walk down into the heart of the village with its choice of shops, restaurants and bars. Recent lift developments mean that there are now two chairlifts out of Plagne 1800 which has vastly improved access to the higher slopes..


The owner has successfully rented the chalet to a well-known Tour Operator but has preferred to rent on a self-catered basis in the last few years.

La Plagne is a great resort for all levels of skiers and the Vanoise Express link to Les Arcs means that the joint Paradiski ski area offers an amazing 425km of slopes. There are wide cruising runs, runs through the trees, a number of terrain parks, two glaciers and a wealth of easily accessible off piste. Plagne 1800 is linked to other La Plagne villages by a free shuttle bus and has a number of ski hire shops, ESF ski school, some good value restaurants and a couple of bars including the ever popular  La Mine. The  Melezes chairlift linking with the new  Bergerie chairlift out of Plagne Centre opens up all of the resort and has made 1800 a much more convenient base..


The chalet offers accommodation on 4 levels.


Entering the chalet there is a double bedroom, separate toilet, sauna, shower room and plenty of storage space for skis boots, linen etc .


Moving up one floor there are two twin/double bedrooms and a large family bedroom that currently has two single beds and a set of bunk beds . This floor also has a very large bathroom with bath, shower attachment, twin sinks and through to a WC and a further shower room with washbasin and WC. White tiles on the walls and floor and some big mirrors make these bright, light bathrooms.


On the third level there is a big living space with a lounge area, TV viewing area, dining space and kitchen.


The lounge and TV area have big squidgy sofas and a log burner for that country cottage feel highlighted by the use of a lot of pale woodwork—very nice indeed..


There is a dining area suitable for 12+ people whilst the kitchen has painted units, a stainless steel range style Smeg oven/hob and the usual dishwasher, microwave and built in fridge.. There is also a small sitting area ( the French would call it  a dressing) separate WC and a very big bathroom with bath, overhead shower and double sinks; again white tiles and a big mirror make this a modern, airy bathroom.


For outside living there is a  big terrace/balcony off the lounge that is to two sides of the chalet; a great sunbathing, barbecuing, al fresco dining space.


Finally upstairs from the dining area are two lovely bedrooms under the eaves, one a twin room and the other currently a triple. Sloping ceilings, cottage style soft furnishings and the pale wood all enhance the cosy ambiance..


To sum up this is a spacious, well decorated chalet with a homely feel. It offers a lot of accommodation in a nice village with all of Paradiski to explore. Now looking very good value for money.

By air; the nearest airports are Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble and Lyon.


By rail; the nearest station is down in the valley at Aime. A bus service operates to La Plagne; some 25 minutes by car/taxi.


Self-drive; it is an approx. 10 hour drive from the channel ports .

Resort Description

La Plagne is one of France’s largest and most popular ski resorts. It is also extremely popular with British skiers and boarders who make up around 35% of the visitors to this great resort. With some 225 km. of piste, continual upgrading of the lift facilities and slopes for all standards of skier there is something for everybody. If this is not enough for you the amazing Vanoise Express double decker gondola link to Les Arcs opens up another 200km. of slopes. The joint La Plagne, Les Arcs, PARADISKI ski domain is one of the world’s truly great fully linked ski areas. La Plagne is not just one resort but a collection of ski villages, 6 at high altitude and 4 further down the mountain, each with their own shops, restaurants, bars and ski schools. At high altitude the 6 villages are; Aime La Plagne (2100m),Belle Plagne(2050m),Plagne Villages/Soleil(2050m),Plagne Bellecote(1930m),Plagne Centre(1970m) and Plagne 1800(1800m). Of these the pitched roof chalet style of Belle Plagne, Plagne Villages/Soleil and Plagne 1800 are the most attractive to British eyes. However the other three are not without their fans and offer ski in ski out convenience and some great value accommodation. The original la Plagne, Plagne Centre, is undergoing a considerable facelift and next year work begins on the indoor shopping and restaurant areas. Lower down the mountain there are more traditional villages. Les Coches at 1450 m has been purpose built in a pleasing chalet style and recent lift improvements have transformed access to the higher slopes. Champagny en Vanoise (1250m) and, in particular, Montchavin(1250m) and Montalbert(1350m) have retained their rustic farming charm and have a strong following amongst British clients. Between them the villages of La Plagne offer something for everyone. There are wide, cruising blue slopes for the less confident or those “hot chocolate” skiers amongst you with tough blacks and a wealth of off piste for the stronger /more adventurous skier. Boarders have not been forgotten with a variety of Terrain parks on offer. Accommodation varies from simple, great value, ski in ski out studios and apartments to luxury new build apartments and chalets.
