Property Description

This beautiful chalet is on a quiet road in a pretty mountain village very close to the ski slopes of the Portes du Soleil. It has 5 bedrooms and offers a spacious family home or ideal holiday location.

Set in a glorious valley just before Morzine, this house benefits from the most amazing views from all sides. It was built in 2002 to a very high standard and is particularly well insulated against the warm summers and cold winters. Just 3kms away there is Morzine, the pretty mountain resort with lots of charm and lots of skiing - it is part of the Portes du Soleil which offers 160Kms of piste.

The village itself is really charming with a good bar/restaurant within walking distance.

To enter the house you walk up a set of steps to a lovely balcony area which has panoramic views towards Morzine. The spacious hallway has fitted cupboards to hide away the coats and shoes.

Through this hallway you come to an open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen which is light and spacious with triple aspect and of double height. Within the lounge area there is a large wood burning fire which is amazingly effective at heating this large space.

The kitchen is at one end and is very well appointed with fitted oven, microwave, gas hob, extractor, dish-washer, fridge and freezer. There is also a breakfast bar which helps to separate the kitchen from the rest of the room.

Also on this floor there are two double bedrooms, a large shower room with double fitted vanity unit and a WC.

Upstairs there are three further double bedrooms, a shower room and WC.

There is also a Mezzanine which is large enough for an office area.

Down on the basement level, you have a double length garage, room for the boiler, lots of storage and a large room with a boot dryer.

Outside there is a good sized garden, mainly laid to lawn and a driveway with ample parking.

In a very sought after area in the Alps this well constructed chalet would be ideal to let for ski/summer holidays or as a fantastic family home - the choice is yours! As well as Morzine being close by, you have Les Gets and Avoriaz, there is also a lovely town called Montriond which has a small lake for swimming in the summer.

Down the mountain, you have Lake Geneva and the lakeside towns of Evian-les-Bains and Thonon-Les-Bains. Geneva itself is about 1 hour away and there are also excellent road links. The snow is cleared so efficiently that there are rarely any problems in getting around even in the middle of winter.

Once you discover this amazing area you definitely won’t want to go home. Come and see for yourself...........

Morzine

Resort Description

Situated mid-way between Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva, the ever popular resort of Morzine is absolutely stunning, well known for its Alpine scenery, nestled between forests and summits. Life is leisurely, and the village although vibrant and bustling has lost nothing of its original charm and Savoyard way of life. Ideally situated right in the middle of the Portes du Soleil, Morzine is the gateway to a marvellous winter playground of 650 km of ski-slopes where you can ski from French into Switzerland and back again all in one day.  When it comes to lunchtime you are spoilt for choice with all the mountain restaurants scattered everywhere.

In summer, these slopes become sign-posted footpaths for trekking and moutain biking. Originally life in Morzine was one of agriculture and slate-mines but with the opening of the ‘Grand Hotel’ (first tourist hotel built in the 1920’s) and its owner François Baud opened up a new opportunities for the village and it’s in habitants. Then in 1934 the Pleney cable car was opened and the thick covering of snow started some previously unknown sports: tobogganing, ski-jöring (towed behind a horse), the beginnings of downhill skiing and even ski-jumping!

If ski or snow boarding instruction is the order of the day there are avariety of French and English speaking Instructors in the ski schools.

There is a vast array of shops, bars and restaurants, offering plenty to non-skiers as well and for after ski fun.  This makes Morzine a good all year round resot for those who live here and those with Holiday homes.
