Mont Dore is a Spa town and ski village. Its very 'French' with lots of bars and restaurants, ice skating rink, bowling, cinema, casino, shops and supermarkets. Two parks. Train station. Outdoor pursuits. Primary school in the village and secondary school less than 10minutes away. Le Mont Dore offers two seasons Summer for mounting biking and walking and the Winter for skiing. It also offers the 'Cure' a one or three weeks spa treatment for respiratory problems. 1km to the ski slopes of 'The sancy' and connects to a second resort 'Super Besse'. 3km to 9 hole golf course. 5km to the town La Bourboule another spa town with lots to offer. 35km to Clermont Ferrand City and airport.

The Auvergne region has excellent TGV fast trains from Paris to Clermont-Ferrand.

Originally built on the site of ancient Roman baths, the spa town of Le Mont-Dore is one of the oldest ski resorts in France, sitting at the foot of the 1,886m Puy de Sancy.


Mont Dore Ski Resort

MONT DORE is in the heart of the Auverne National Park and is one of the oldest ski resorts in France. Le Sancy is at 1850m sits at the northern side of the mountain and has 41km of slopes with the link to Super Besse on the southern side with another 43km of slopes offering alpine skiing and cross country skiing.

Le Mont Dore town is at the foot of the Le Sancy. Its a pretty old Spa town with beautiful stone buildings and small streets. It has the oldest Fenicular in France.


A real traditional ambiance regional dishes, local cheeses and cured meats. It has a Thermal spa, a Casino, many restaurants, bars and shops. There is also a full size ice-skating rink, bowling alley, horse riding, tree climbing, summer tobogganing and a golf course. Events are run all year round; motor-racing, VTT challenges, jazz and blues music festivals and much more. The town benefits from three seasons Summer, Winter and the Thermal Cure. This makes the resort ideal for permanent residence, a holiday home or rental investment with the potential to rent almost all year round.
