This large, 3 bed, 2 bath Ski Apartment with 2 caves and a parking space is in a prime location in the heart of Les Allues, just a few seconds’ walk to the free resort bus stop. Both the ski hire shop and popular, traditionally Savoyard restaurant and bar are literally right on your doorstep. The Apartment is sold fully furnished and includes almost everything shown on the photographs, except for a few paintings.
Set over two levels, the Apartment features a spectacular master suite with high, vaulted ceilings on the top level and two further double bedrooms, bathroom, sauna and large, double aspect lounge/dining area and fully equipped kitchen.
There are various points of access to balconies on both levels. Parking is in a private car-park opposite the residence and there are also two caves below. Located on the first floor of the residence, the entrance hallway to the apartment includes a large cupboard with electric boot warmer for 10 pairs and hanging space for coats and bags.
Immediately to the left is a staircase leading to the impressive master-suite, which is full of light courtesy of two sets of French doors leading out onto a south-facing balcony. The huge bed is the focal point of the room, but is not overbearing, due to the sheer amount of space in the suite.
There are also two armchairs and many built in wardrobes. The en-suite bathroom features a bath and a shower, double sink and a bidet. Back down to the first-floor, the entrance hallway also leads to the large, L-shaped, double-aspect lounge and dining area with wood-fire and access to the balcony which wraps around both the south and west facing sides of the residence via two sets of French doors.
The dining table currently seats 8 people whilst there is ample seating in the living area. Next to the dining area is the kitchen, which will be furnished with all appliances and utensils. At the opposite end of this level are two further double bedrooms, both of which have built in wardrobes whilst one has French doors to the balcony. On the corridor between the living area and bedrooms is a large "Tylo" sauna, a bathroom with WC, double sink and shower-over-bath.
Below the residence are two caves, perfect for storing personal items if renting the property out or for all your skiing gear. There is one private outdoor parking place opposite the residence. Les Allues is a charming, typically Savoyard village with an all year round community which provides quick and easy access to skiing in Meribel during the winter season and a base for walkers, climbers and those who enjoy all manner of outdoor pursuits in the summer.
It is well served by 6 restaurants and bars, each with their own atmosphere and plenty of entertainment for all tastes. The restaurant directly below the apartment is typically French, yet also very popular with holiday-makers and British residents. It is primarily an eatery with a small bar, so night-time noise is not a problem. Situated in the Meribel Valley, the village offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
During the winter season, a free resort bus service runs right past the apartment building every 15-25 minutes during peak times and hourly off peak, the first bus to resort is at 7.30am while the last bus back to the village is at 0.30am. This is a very practical option for those who prefer to avoid driving in winter conditions or for families with independent teenagers who wish to stay in resort later in the evening. A bus service is also available in summer.
The nearest SNCF train station is in Moutiers, just 11km away, which is also the destination for the Snow Train which runs from London during the winter season. There is also an altiport in the commune, situated above the Meribel resort which can accommodate small aircraft and helicopters. The commune is also served by the the ‘Olympe’ Telecabine (cable-car), just a 5 minute walk from the apartment, which runs from Brides-Les-Bains to the centre of the Meribel resort.

Méribel is one of most popular resorts in Europe for English-speaking skiers along with Courchevel and Val d’Isere.
Meribel is the central valley of the largest ski domain in the world, Les 3 Vallées.
With 600 km of groomed pistes, 85% of which are above 1800 metres, 25 accessible summits, 174 modern lifts and over 2090 snow cannons covering 43% of the ski area the statistics are impressive as is the skiing. However Méribel is much more than the 5 month winter ski season and an extended stay in summer or during the colours of autumn are needed to appreciate this.
The initial development of the ski resort in the late 1930’s was a British and French partnership and this acceptance of English speakers continues to this day. Méribel is now a much more diverse international community with a large percentage of residents or visitors speaking English as their main or second language.
The main village of Méribel is built on the eastern side of the valley between 1450 and 1700 metres and because of this it is surrounded by forests or grass & timbered slopes. The strict architectural codes of alpine sloping rooflines, timber and stone cladding compliments this setting and makes it one of, if not the most, attractive of all the large high altitude French ski resorts.
The other major “resort villages” are Méribel Mottaret (1750 m), Méribel Village (1400 m), Les Allues (1100m) and the spa town of Brides-Les-Bains (600 m) at the very bottom of the valley. There are many smaller villages or hamlets so the range of property covers all tastes from barn conversions & village houses through to ski apartments and super luxury ski in ski out chalets with private swimming pools. As well as the normal range of hotels, bars, restaurants & shops Méribel boasts a range of facilities and activities.
The Méribel Olympic Centre is home to a full size ice rink, indoor climbing wall, 25 metres indoor heated pool and water slide, conference centre, gymnasium and wellness centre of spa, steamrooms, etc.
There is a spectacular 18 hole Golf Course at 1700 metres and a huge range of other outdoor activities such as tennis, hiking, mountain biking, road cycling, paragliding, fishing, etc which are enjoyed in the warmer months. Méribel property is generally more expensive than other French resorts but not yet at the dizzy heights of Courchevel 1850 with perhaps the exception of a few of the most prestigious pockets.
As Méribel continues to become ever more popular with the big spenders of the world the strong capital growth experienced over many many years is likely to continue.
