Abondance Ski Resort
In the beautiful setting of the Abondance valley, at the gateway to the Franco-Swiss Portes du Soleil area, and just a few kilometres away from lake Geneva, there exists a village that offers a warm welcome, all the fun of the great outdoors in the heart of nature, and a preserved heritage.
Abondance is a skiing paradise in the winter with the pleasures of snowsports with all the family in the new Auffaz snow game area. For a quick escape, Abondance is linked by a regular shuttle bus service to the fantastic Portes du Soleil ski fields. For those who prefer trekking, Abondance has marked snowshoe paths, with guided trips organised by the Guides Office, and 10 km of cross-country ski tracks.
Abondance is also rich in culture with its exceptional abbey (church, cloisters and religious art museum), and la Maison du Val, the Abondance valley’s heritage centre. After a fun-filled day, you can taste some local cuisine, and especially the Berthoud, one of the valley’s specialities, made from melted Abondance cheese.
