A truly exceptional Alpine home for family, friends and generations to come
There are chalets that offer accommodation in the mountains, and then there are properties that become destinations in their own right. This traditional architect-designed chalet is one of the latter.
Rarely does a property of this scale, quality and character become available in the very heart of Les Deux Alpes. Created to an exacting standard by renowned regional chalet builder Bayrou, this magnificent residence combines impressive proportions, authentic Alpine craftsmanship and exceptional versatility to create a private mountain retreat unlike any other.
With 282m² of habitable space and approximately 391m² of total usable floor area, the chalet unfolds over three levels and offers an extraordinary 11 ensuite bedrooms, providing an abundance of space for family, friends and guests.
It is a home designed not simply to visit the mountains, but to live the Alpine lifestyle to its fullest.
From the moment you enter, the quality of the construction is immediately apparent. The chalet was built by Bayrou, one of the region's most respected chalet builders, with a reputation for outstanding craftsmanship and the use of substantial natural materials. Magnificent exposed timber beams and quality European larch — Mélèze — give the property its unmistakable Alpine identity, while the generous volumes create a feeling of warmth, permanence and understated grandeur.
This is the classic mountain chalet elevated to an altogether more substantial level.
At the heart of the chalet is a spectacular open-plan living and entertaining space.
The principal living floor brings together a generous sitting room centred around a wood-burning fireplace, an impressive dining area and a fully equipped professional kitchen. It is a space made for memorable occasions — long lunches after a morning on the mountain, family dinners around the table, après-ski drinks beside the fire and evenings that continue long after the last lift has closed. The perfect home for entertaining
The scale of the property means that entertaining a large group feels entirely natural, while the generous bedroom accommodation provides every guest with their own private ensuite retreat. The chalet's accommodation is particularly impressive.
Across the three floors are 11 spacious bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, or shower room, providing a level of accommodation rarely found in a private Alpine residence.
The upper floor is especially evocative, with five beautifully proportioned bedrooms beneath the chalet roof and magnificent exposed structural beams creating an authentic mountain atmosphere. For a large family, a multi-generational retreat or a private group of friends, the possibilities are endless. There is room for everyone — and enough space to ensure complete privacy.
The chalet also incorporates its own spa and sauna facilities, providing the perfect sanctuary after a day spent skiing, hiking or exploring the mountains. The spa room opens directly onto the spacious outside terrace through a large roller shutter door, creating a wonderfully flexible indoor/outdoor space.
It is easy to imagine returning from the slopes, stepping into the sauna or spa and then gathering around the fire for the evening. This truly is Alpine living at its most indulgent.
The practical aspects of the chalet are every bit as impressive. A large three-car garage provides secure parking, while the substantial ski storage and locker room offer ample space for skis, snowboards, boots, bikes and all the equipment associated with an active mountain lifestyle. The chalet has been designed with the realities of Alpine living in mind, providing the storage, access and infrastructure expected of a property of this calibre.
Perhaps the greatest luxury of all is the chalet's position. Situated in the heart of Les Deux Alpes and close to the ski lift system, the property combines the space and privacy of a substantial private residence with the extraordinary convenience of being at the centre of the resort. The ski bus stops right outside the door.
Restaurants, cafés, shops and the resort's amenities are all close at hand, while the mountains are quite literally on your doorstep. There is no need to compromise between having a magnificent private chalet and being able to enjoy everything the resort has to offer.
For an international buyer seeking something genuinely special in the French Alps, this chalet represents far more than a holiday property. It will provide a mountain home for generations to come, an opportunity to create a private Alpine legacy — a place where family and friends can gather year after year.
With 11 ensuite bedrooms, there is room for several generations to stay together comfortably, while the exceptional communal spaces encourage everyone to come together and enjoy the property as it was intended. It truly is an extraordinary base for a family with a passion for skiing, cycling, hiking and the mountains throughout the year.
For a family looking to establish an exceptional Alpine retreat or for several families wishing to share an unparalleled mountain base, the possablilty to acquire this property is a rare opportunity. Properties of this size, quality and central location are exceptionally difficult to recreate. The combination of 11 ensuite bedrooms, impressive living volumes, authentic Alpine construction, private wellness facilities, extensive storage and a prime position in Les Deux Alpes makes this a truly distinctive property.
For the discerning buyer looking for more than simply a chalet — for someone seeking a substantial private Alpine residence with character, provenance and a sense of permanence — this is an opportunity that deserves serious consideration.
A magnificent mountain home.
A place for family and friends.
A legacy in the Alps.
