The Tramway de Mont Blanc takes you to St Gervais' second ski area at the Col de Voza from where you can ski the Les Houches Saint Gervais area in the Chamonix valley. In the summer months, the town comes into its own with lovely cafes and terraces around the market place, and presents a wealth of activities from walking, mountaineering and cycling to relaxing at the pool and tennis complex and swimming in the local lakes. There are golf courses in easy driving range in both Megeve and Chamonix, which is only 30 mins away (26km) and a championship course in Evian and 3 more options around Lake Annecy. St Gervais is also ideally located for days out, with Annecy (87 km), Switzerland (43km) and Italy (40km) all within an hour's drive. Geneva airport is just 96km away and an easy motorway drive or hop on the Leman Express train to Geneva from St Gervais station, easily accessed by the cable car directly from the town.
There is a free lift, running 7am-11pm, which provides access to the thermal park and its famous natural spas as well as giving access to the train station on foot.
With a host of restaurants, from Michelin rated to more modest everyday options, 4 star hotels and a 5 star hotel, St Gervais really is the up and coming place to invest in the Alps!

The 3rd largest winter playground in France and one of our most popular areas, Domaine Evasion Mont Blanc - under an hour to Geneva and to Italy and with 445km (276 miles) of piste served by 107 ski lifts and featuring the resorts of Saint Gervais Mont Blanc, St Nicolas de Veroce, Les Contamines, Megève, Combloux, and La Giettaz. You can also link Saint Gervais's second area , 'Les Houches Saint Gervais' via the Tramway du Mont Blanc from Saint-Gervais and onwards to the Chamonix valley. The lift pass price is reasonable for such a huge area and the atmosphere that of genuine French market towns and villages and not of purpose-built ski resorts. If you are looking for authenticity where French is still spoken in the bars and shops this is the place !The area is one of the easiest to reach from Geneva airport, just 86km so an easy 45 minutes motorway drive and then just 7 minutes up the hill to Saint-Gervais. The area is less well known as there are no major tour operators bringing the mass market to the area, however there are plenty of like-minded independent travellers and the range of villages means you will find a holiday to suit almost every person and pocket. From the uber rich clientele of Megève, to the traditional market town of Saint Gervais les Bains , great for families with a cable link direct from the TGV train station and the friendly village resort of Les Contamines there is something for everyone. This also applies to the skiing which is varied to suit all abilities and the traditional villages makes this a great destination in the summer months too with a range of activities for everyone.
Saint Gervais and the Evasion Mont-Blanc area consists of 445km of piste , the 3rd largest area in France , 219 slopes, 107 ski lifts and 650 artificial snow makers. The area also has 5 snow parks and a good choice of off-piste.
