Located at an altitude of 1,500 metres and overlooking the charming village of Champagny-en-Vanoise, the Champagny-le-Haut plateau is a true delight for lovers of unspoilt Alpine landscapes.
Close to the main village yet wonderfully secluded, the Champagny-le-Haut valley combines a spectacular natural setting, characteristic of glacial valleys, with a landscape shaped by generations of human activity and adaptation .

With its proximity to Courchevel and its direct connection to la Plagne on one side and being one of the major access points for the famous Vanoise National Park on the other, the village boasts a year-round attraction that sets it apart from many of the big ski station in its vicinity.
In winter, the valley offers a vast nordic and cross-country skiing area with almost 30km of prepared and secured runs, snowshoe hiking trails, horseback riding and ski-joering, dog sled rentals and the famous ice climbing tower with regular competitions and events attracting large crowds.
The freeride and off- piste enthusiasts that dare the thrilling rides from the top of La Plagne, the Roche de Mio and Bellecote summits, into the wide bowls and steep couloirs all arrive at Champagny le Haut.
Free shuttle buses run every 5-10 minutes to bring them back in less than 6 minutes to the the main village and its connection with La Plagne and Les Arcs /Paradiski and its 430km of slopes. A short drive via Bozel (less than 30min) takes you to Courchevel and its access to the gigantique 3 V skie area.

In spring, when the ski season in the resorts comes to an end, the ski mountaineers put the skins on their skis : The valley is starting and end point for many iconic ski mountaineering routes, ( Grand Bec Couloir des Italiens, Col du Palet, Grand Casse, Grand Motte and many others. )

In summer, Champagny le Haut turns into a haven for nature lovers, hikers, climbers, and everyone who is yearing the beauty, peace and calm of the unspoiled mountains. A number of high-altitude refuges attract hikers and alpinists alike, while connection some of the iconic long distance hiking trails in the French Alps.

Fall, with its stunning colors and the quiet atmosphere right at the onset of the long mountain winter, has its own beauty . It attracts may mountain lovers, visitors and hikers who come for empty trails, cool temperatures and the bellow of the mountain elks marking their territory.

The meticulously renovated chalet offers a mix of traditional alpine charme,  craftsmanship and clear, modern design, with wide spaces, windows and light taking your guests into the relaxing mindset of its surroundings.

The entry leads you into the light filled dining and living space of 78m2, with a massive central fireplace made from granite and ancient timbers.

Also on this level, there is a laundry room and an additional bedroom with shower and WC  and the connection to the neighboring chalet if they are both rented by one group. ( see below and watch the video)

About Ski area of this property

Ski Area: Paradiski

Paradiski is the name of the joint La Plagne, Les Arcs, ski area linked together by the Vanoise Express cable car. Opened in December 2003,the Vanoise Express is currently the world's largest single span cable car; in fact there are two of them both capable of ferrying 200 people across the Ponthurin valley that divides the two areas. The journey and the views make for a spectacular 4-minute ride.In total Paradiski offers a HUGE 425 km of piste. Individually, La Plagne (225 km) and Les Arcs (200km) are significant ski areas in their own right and are both made up of different villages. In La Plagne the high altitude villages are Aime 2000, Plagne Centre, Belle Plagne, Plagne Bellecote, Plagne Soleil, Plagne Villages and Plagne 1800. These are all situated between 1800m and 2100m and offer snowsure high altitude ski in ski out convenience.Lower down the delightful villages of Montchavin, Les Coches, Montalbert and Champagny en Vanoise all offer the charm and cosy comfort of village life, with their own tree lined local slopes and easy access to the high altitude slopes of La Plagne. In Les Arcs the high altitude villages are Arcs 1600, Arcs 1800, Arcs 2000 and, the latest development, Arcs 1950. Again these all offer a ski in ski out experience. Great cruising runs through the trees lead to the lower villages of Plan Peisey, Vallandry and Villaroger for a more traditional mountain experience. Both La Plagne and Les Arcs offer something for everyone. Early intermediate blue and red run skiers can soon explore the area and travel around the mountain enjoying some of the good value mountain restaurants. However with two glaciers at over 3,000m, a wealth of "between the piste" and off piste and long runs through the trees, there really is something for all levels of skier - and let's not forget you boarders out there - both resorts offer a choice of snowparks with jumps, rails and the all important, music. La Plagne, Les Arcs, Paradiski - one of the world's great ski areas.

Ski Resort: Champagny-en-Vanoise

Champagny-en-Vanoise is rather special. Its part of the enormous National Parc de Vanoise, a truly beautiful and breathtaking wilderness and it is linked in to Paradiski – one of the largest ski areas in the world.   The village is charming. It is a traditional mountain village and has kept, for the most part, an authentic feel. Champagny Station is at an altitude of 1250m so runs back to the village can get a bit scratchy, but this is OK because you can catch the cable back down. Here you’ll find a range of shops, bars and restaurants. It’s all pretty low key and very much aimed at families.   There is also Champagny le Haut at 1450m a glorious village that makes you feel as though you’re stepping back in time. When I was last up there I was so captivated I turned into a tourist and started taking pictures. This is a preserved valley, classified in ‘the natural monuments and sites of France’ for its beautiful countryside and the preserved architecture of its villages. It is also the Gateway to the National Park of Vanoise (the oldest National Park in France, founded in 1963) and one of the most beautiful sites for cross country skiing and Nordic activities in the region. Champany offers a lot more than downhill skiing, there is nordic skiing, snow shoe walks, ice climbing, parapenting, sleigh rides and much more.   So from the resort centre you leap on the cable car which can have queues in peak season but once on, 8 minutes and you’re off on your skies. It takes skiers to the Southern slopes and the vast area for boardsports of la Grande Plagne: 225km of pistes for all levels between about 2,000 and 3,000 metres. You can ski on the sunny Southern slopes of Champagny, perhaps on the Bellecôte glacier or in the forest around the villages opposite Mont Blanc, wherever you ski there is plenty here to keep all levels of skier entertained.
